Your tube amp's sweet spot...
at any volume

Whether you make music at home or with others, the Supreme Soaker is the perfect way to tame your amp for the job. As a reactive attenuator and load box with a finely tuned analog speaker simulator built in, the Supreme Soaker allows you to permanently dial in your amp’s sweet spot – at any volume – and it will quickly become your go-to device in any musical situation, from playing and recording at home to rehearsing with a band, and even playing live… without sacrificing one iota of your precious tone!

Authentic analog speaker tones
at the flick of a switch

The LINE EQ and SPEAKER TONE controls are your gateway to tube amp tonal bliss! Each control gives you access to five finely-tuned analog emulations (plus a bypass option) so you can tweak your tone exactly the way you want it and conjure up new iconic worlds of sound... no menu diving needed!

ADD THE SPEAKER TONE TO THE LINE OR HEADPHONE OUTPUT

For even more sound variations, you can activate the POST button and create different combinations with your LINE EQ and SPEAKER TONE settings.

Note 1: This all happens before the FX Loop!
Note 2: When the POST button is activated and FULL ATTN is activated, there is no signal at the LINE OUT or PHONES.

SPEAKER SIMULATION (LINE EQ)

Activate an analog LINE EQ - also known as speaker simulation - on the balanced line outputs and the headphone output. The LINE EQ works at full attenuation as well as at all other attenuation levels. If you bypass it (BYPASS), you will hear the dry signal of your amplifier. Use the Tone button to apply a “harder” or “softer” LINE EQ curve: select HARD for distorted sounds and SOFT for clean sounds.

Attention: the signal will not pass to the LINE OUT and PHONES if the switch is set to POST and you have selected FULL ATTN.

ATTENUATION

Reduce the power delivered from your tube amp to your speaker to play the amp in the range where it sounds best without losing dynamics. For silent use, set the control to FULL ATTN. The Supreme Soaker delivers a continuous load to your amplifier at any attenuation level – even when you are not using the attenuation feature.

SPEAKER TONE CHANGE

This knob controls interactions between your amplifier and your speaker. Using SPEAKER TONE changes the impedance curve that your amplifier "sees", allowing your speaker to produce different sound variations.

Front panel options
for stage, studio
and silent practice

The Supreme Soaker has your back whether you’re playing a show or practicing at home. At gigs, use the Mic/Line In to blend your favourite cab/mic combo with the Supreme Soaker’s speaker simulator for a supreme analog sound experience. When you need to be quiet, the Headphone Out is your friend. And if you want to jam along to backing tracks, or even play to a click, the Aux Input makes this an exercise in convenience.

MIC/LINE INPUT

Mic up your guitar speaker and feed the signal into the Supreme Soaker. The TONE control applies a high-shelf EQ of +/- 10 dB to the microphone or line signal.
There is a phantom power switch for operating condenser microphones and a polarity switch on the back of the device. You can use the GAIN control to set the pre-amplification of the input. You can use the BLEND control to adjust the volume ratio between the microphone signal and loudspeaker simulation (LINE EQ)

Note 1: This all happens before the FX Loop!
Note 2: When the POST button is activated and FULL ATTN is activated, there is no signal at the LINE OUT or PHONES.

JAM TO YOUR MUSIC

Play your music (backing track, click track, monitor mix) into the AUX IN and jam with your favourite amplifier sound.

Note: The input signal of the aux track is not forwarded to the line output (LINE OUT), but only to the headphone output (PHONES).

The back panel: all the connections
the modern guitar player needs

Signalchain

Hook your stereo (and mono!) FX pedals up to the Supreme Soaker to hear everything exactly the way it was meant to be. And if you love to record, the balanced stereo XLR Line Outputs offer the key to pro level studio tracks. Plus, if you’re into reamping, no problem – the Reamp Out on the Supreme Soaker makes reamplification a breeze.

INSERTING YOUR STEREO EFFECTS

Integrate your favourite effects pedals into the serial FX LOOP.
The effects inserted into the FX LOOP are integrated after the LINE EQ (speaker simulation) and the MIC/LINE IN. You can set the FX LOOP to work at instrument or pro level (PRO/INST) via a switch on the rear panel of the Supreme Soaker.

A new world of sonic possibilities...

Description

The Supreme Soaker allows guitar players to maximise the potential of their tube amps in a way that has never been possible - until now. As a reactive attenuator and load box with a finely tuned analogue speaker simulator built in, the Supreme Soaker allows guitarists to permanently dial in their amp's sweet spot - at any volume - and it will quickly become their go-to device in any musical situation, from playing and recording at home to rehearsing with a band, and even playing live… without sacrificing one iota of their precious guitar tone.

Whether it's for jamming at home, recording their own music or playing with others - or all of the above - the Supreme Soaker is the perfect way to do that, while keeping the guitar/amp signal pristine and analogue at all times.

Here are just some of the Supreme Soaker's key benefits:

- Reactive attenuator and load box: dial in a tube guitar amp's sweet spot at any volume, from zero (either by using headphones or recording silently) to room levels, to the boundaries of what's acceptable noise-wise… with no speaker cabinet required!

- Finely-tuned analogue speaker simulator: tweak the guitar rig's tone as necessary to reveal its ultimate tones - no need to mic up a cab ever again!

- Speaker output with unique tone control: shift the tonal palette of the speaker cabinet to conjure up new iconic worlds of sound.

- Microphone/line input (blendable with speaker simulator): blend a miked up cab with the Supreme Soaker's speaker simulator for a supreme analogue sound experience.

- Front panel headphone output: perfect for silent practice any time inspiration strikes.

- Stereo FX Loop: for guitar players who love their FX pedals, the Supreme Soaker features a stereo FX Loop for creating otherworldly soundscapes with delays, reverbs and so on.

- Front panel aux input: for jamming along to backing tracks, or even playing to a click! It couldn't be any easier with the Supreme Soaker.

- Balanced stereo XLR Line Outputs: when it comes to recording the sounds of a guitar amp, it doesn't get any easier.

- Compatible with 8 and 16-ohm setups:works flawlessly with 99% of tube amps.

- Rated for amps up to 150 Watts: perfect for taming even the stadium filling full-size tube amp heads of yore! With the Supreme Soaker, every guitar player has a reason to dust off that full stack again!

- Amp protecting circuit with permanent amp load: never worry about plugging in an amp without a speaker connected again!

- All-analogue experience, with no App required! Perhaps most importantly of all, the Supreme Soaker is simple, direct and pure: the guitarist's analogue tone is preserved at all times, and all the controls they need are on the unit itself, so they can focus on the most important thing: making music!

And that's just the start. The Supreme Soaker will quickly become an indispensable tool for guitar players everywhere when it comes to their music making and creative endeavours. Its unparalleled tonal response, user experience and connectivity options are sure to make it the cornerstone of many a rig from now on - and family members, neighbours and audiences will thank Supreme Soaker players too!

Finally, for us - the Palmer team - this is the culmination of a long-term goal, the realisation of a decades-long dream in sound. We've been the industry leader in analogue tonal solutions for musicians and sound engineers for over 40 years. Now, building on the legacy of the award-winning PDI-09 and PDI-03 speaker simulators and the PDI-06 Attenuator and Load Box, our designers and engineers have applied their decades of experience to the development of the Supreme Soaker.
